Following this year’s Le Mans 24 hours, the Garage 27 team captained by Nik Kerswill have set up a dedicated Facebook page. Nik describes the team’s back story;
Garage 27 first raced in 2018 with Nik Kerswill (Team Captain), William Strachan (Team No.2) and David Farrow. We entered the Rockbull Ring event at Rockingham Slot Car Club which featured 2 x 90 minute digital GT3 races on the Saturday and a 6 hour digital WEC race on the Sunday. The GT3 races were a good grounding for us, finishing mid pack. On the Sunday we rather surprisingly won the GT Class in the WEC race.
Our next foray was to be the 2019 DiSCA Le Mans 24h Endurance Race in Henley in Arden in April. This was a whole new level of racing and we ran with a 5 man Team of Nik Kerswill (Team Captain), William Strachan (Team No.2), Martyn John who came to us from the Red Dragon Team, Sean Ilett and Simon Gathercole both from Rockingham SCC. Many problems saw us tumble to the bottom of the field which is pretty much where we stayed for the entire 24h. Many lessons were learnt and a new testing programme is now underway.
