ROCKINGHAM, UK
Exciting news has emerged from Rockingham Slot Car Club as they announce their first digital slot racing event since the beginning of the pandemic. The Northants club will host a six hour endurance for DiSCA WEC-GT specification cars over the weekend July 31st-August 1st 2021* Entries are currently invited via SlotForum.
Entries have already been fielded from home team Garage 27, London-based clubs Stanborough and Exiles, westerners Demon Slot Racing, and reigning WEC LMP2 champions Sports Carazing. International interest so far consists of stalwarts Mission 8, the team of Tamar Nelwan.
Pitched as more of a “prologue” level event which will facilitate the return of racing for those who have missed it for so long, competitors will be issued handout tyres, but will be allowed to use their own motors in accordance with the technical specification.
Club chairman Nik Kerswill ended his announcement by stating; “We hope that you’re all as keen to get racing as we are.”
*the original date of 17th/18th July has been pushed back in an effort to align with the postponed lifting of all COVID-19 restrictions in the UK.
